  Seeing reality,JWs are "oddball crackpots...

  after reading you know's response to the dateline expose' i was reminded of my own brain washing years ago while being raised as a jw.

  it seems so funny to me now but i too used to believe that we jws were completely normal and that anyone who said otherwise was misinformed.

  when i finally removed myself from the watchtower society's influence reality slowly crept into my consciousness and the objective fact that jws are "oddball crackpots" became clear and indisputable.. as a jw i believed in a whole host of absolutely ridiculous and illogical idiocy.

  hh: yeah, i saw "dateline" the other night on how 'hovahs protect sexual deviants.. 'hovah: well, you can't believe....... hh: no, no, i did some research after watching the show, now the wts is synonymous with corruption, deceit, slander, death, suffering, and the like.. 'hovah: well i uh, don't know about, uh, any problems, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh!.

  In the book of "good salesmanship" we are told to take a negative and make it a positive. Even if, on it's face it's a factual negative, magazines can be sold. You have given us a nice demonstration of how it is done. Perhaps you will be asked to have a nice part at the next circuit assembly.

  That is truly and interesting take in the letter from the WTBTS. How can there be a "difference of opinion" regarding child molesters? Shouldn't everyone, including the governing body be against child molestation? And shouldn't everyone, including the governing body want any serious accusations of child molestation to be dealt with by the authorities in order to protect children and society at large?

  Jesus H. Christ what the hell is there a difference of opinion on?

  i just wanted to take a moment and thank you for providing this forum.

  of course, i realize that it's intended purpose is to serve as a stumbling block for jehovah's witnesses, yet at the same time it also serves as a platform for me to defend my faith in a public forum.

  over the years i have appreciated the opportunity provided by this and other forums to confront and refute various challenges that apostates have presented to our precious faith.

  You Know:

  Jehovah must be scratching his head wondering why you would want to endanger your faith by disobeying his "faithful and discreet slave" when they admonish you to NOT visit apostate websites. Obviously you must believe that there is some chance that you would be derailed in your JW beliefs, otherwise claiming victory for not having them derailed is meaningless. In fact aren't you in affect mocking God? Shame on you!

  It's wonderful when someone declares victory in their arguments. I must have missed the polling that was done in here that indicates that You Know has changed hearts and minds about "his faith".

  99.9% of what I read here reflects serious flaws in the beliefs and behaviors of the WTS. So please bring me up to date on your victories. Saying you have won because you say so is circular thinking at it's best.

  Mixed thoughts re: Silentlambs group

  a person has to be a bit nieve to think that if the wt suddenly gave into all of the demands of silentlambs that silentlambs would somehow cease to exist and or let up their pressure on the society.. i think there is a broader agenda here, one that includes a measure of revenge against the wt and one that won't stop until they are out of business.

  no child is truely protected or safe when they are raised in a cult.

  a logical extention of silentlambs would be expanding their agenda to include the blood issue and children.. it is this obvious broader agenda the silentlambs group has that invites criticism from active witnesses.

  If I (personally) agreed with Jehovah's Witnesses I'd say so. If I did, I wouldn't be posting on this website. But whether one does or does not is up the each person. I don't think anyone here is hiding an agenda. And nobody here is trying to brainwash anyone into not becoming a Jehovah's Witness. I (personally) believe great harm is done to many people who become Jehovah's Witnesses, but this is still a free country (USA) and people can believe what they want.

  You appear to be of the opinion that expressing a viewpoint locks an agenda onto this site. You are mistaken. I'm fairly apathetic as to whether a person fucks up their life in a religious cult. ANY CULT. My experience was with Jehovah's Witnesses, hence I participate here. I don't know why it is that people like you make me think about shoving my fist through your teeth, but you do. Bye!

  I'm absolutely baffled by your response to my post. I in no way attacked you or accused you of having an agenda. This sight has untold examples of people who have a myriad of reasons for no longer being Jehovah's Witnesses. There are some who post here who still are Jehovah's Witnesses and defend them at every turn.

  If you are leaving this sight because of what I posted, then don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. I don't even want to guess what your agenda might be. The "group" I was referring to in my post was "Silent Lambs", not this forum. This forum is, last I heard, open to all opinions, for and against the JW's.
